Les données d'élevage ont été compilées par Leslie Houam (stagiaire, Université Paris 1 - Sorbonne) à partir de la Statistique de la France publiée par le ministère de l'Agriculture et des Industries. Ce shapefile contient toutes les données sur les revenus des animaux dans chaque arrondissement de la zone d'étude de Rurland. Les limites des arrondissements proviennent de la version modifiée des cantons français en 1884 fournie par la géo-larhra (voir les métadonnées de la couche limites des arrondissements en 1840 pour plus d'informations). Plusieurs analyses thématiques sont proposées.

Rurland – The rural lands of north-eastern gaul, from the late LaTène period to the late antiquity

Description projet

Le projet Rurland, financé par l’ERC (ERC-2013-ADG, agreement 338680) a pour objectif l’étude de l’espace rural dans le quart Nord-Est de la Gaule, depuis le début de La Tène D1 (milieu du 2e s. av. J.-C.) jusqu’à la fin du 5e s. ap. J.-C. Centré sur la période romaine, il se propose d’examiner, dans la longue durée, l’évolution du monde rural avec ses antécédents protohistoriques et ses mutations de l’Antiquité tardive, dans une vaste zone où la recherche récente, quoique active, n’a pas donné lieu à des synthèses. Il concerne tout le quart Nord-Est de la Gaule romaine, de la Seine au limes germanique, de la mer du Nord au plateau suisse, soit les provinces antiques de Belgique, des deux Germanies et une petite partie de la Lyonnaise. Il s’étend donc sur six états modernes (France, Belgique, Pays-Bas, Allemagne, Luxembourg, Suisse), dans lesquels l’étude sur les campagnes romaines est inégale, pour des raisons qui tiennent à l’histoire de la recherche ancienne ou aux méthodologies actuelles, aux barrières linguistiques et bibliographiques, mais aussi à la diversité même des paysages naturels qui forment tout l’hinterland de la frontière romaine de Germanie.

The map of the French arrondissements in 1840 was adapted from the map of the French cantons in 1884 provided by the geo-larhra (Vectoriel datasource : Laboratoire de Recherche Historique Rhône-Alpes- UMR 5190 – 2011). These data are under Licence Creative Commons Attribution – No commercial utilisation – Sharing in the same conditions 4.0 International. The main objective was to have a geographical and georeferenced database for the mapping of the historical dataset studied and compiled by Leslie Houam (trainee, Université Paris 1 – Sorbonne) concerning the breeding from the Statistique de la France, volume Agriculture, published by the French ministry of Agriculture and Industries. The data were originally projected in Lambert 93 (EPSG 2154).
